How To Turn A Relationship Into A Sale

This article (link below) was a great reminder and an easy read on the topic of relationship building vs. selling. One of the many points that stood out to me and reinforced my personal belief and strategy was the following: "a sales call is a success if it advances your customers' cause and builds the relationship, not just if it closes a transaction." The close will come (with skill and precision), when the timing is right for both parties.
When I am focused on building a client's retail base or finding the perfect strategic partner for a brand, establishing sincere and genuine relationships with key influencers is essential. Providing personal and professional value is at the forefront of Mind Machine's approach. Relationship building is an art, one that comes more naturally to some than others and certainly a mind-set here at Mind Machine. Being mindful and real makes our job rewarding.
As the article states, "people do business with people they know and like." While I am over simplifying things, at the core, be generous, be helpful and believe in what you are selling. Attempt to make the conscious shift from selling to relationship building. It may just be your golden ticket.
